The primary goal of the Santa Rosa based True Grit Running is to promote and stage a quality, flat, fast, accurate, and festive half and full marathon to be enjoyed by our community, spectators, and all the participants, including walkers, recreational, beginner and competitive runners as they start and finish in picturesque Juilliard Park after looping the entire length of the scenic Santa Rosa Creek Greenway.
I have been working in the fitness industry since I was 17 years old. I started working for the Santa Rosa Marathon’s Inaugural race in 2009. It has been really exciting to watch the Santa Rosa Marathon grow over the years. I have learned so much in the past years about races and the passion people have for running. It’s a great feeling to help organize this race and to see all the runners enjoy it so much. I love to see people accomplish their goals.
Orhan Sarabi has been in the health club business for 15-years and has managed several clubs, numerous events, expos and related parties. This will be my sixth year since starting the race with Arthur Webb back in 2009. Orhan has completed three 24 Hour Relay for Charity run/walk benefits, covering 76-miles in each event. The 76-miles represented one mile for every year his father had lived. I am also the Race Director for the Russian River Mud Run and the new Jack London Chocolate Run.

Born and raised in Sonoma County my whole life I feel very connected to this community. I have had the great pleasure of being a part of the team that puts together this first class running event the last three years. I have enjoyed competing in numerous running competitions over the years and feel equally fulfilled watching others complete their goals of crossing the finish line. Although I am very happy with the event, I strive to bring new and fresh ideas that may add to the event experience.
