What time does the race start?​​​

Full Marathon: 6:00 am

Half Marathon: 7:00 am

5K: 8:00 am

Where and when is the pre-race Expo and packet pick-up?​​​
​The Santa Rosa Marathon Expo is held at DeLoach Vineyards on Friday, August 21st from 3p.m.-7p.m. and on Saturday, August 22nd from 10 a.m-6p.m.There will be no packet pickup or registration on race day for the Full or Half Marathon.

How do I know if I'm registered and my race waiver is signed?​
​Once your registration is compleate you’ll receive an email confirmation from Active.com. Also, we recomend for you to bring your confirmation e-mail with you to the Expo for packet pick-up.

Who can pick up my packet for me?​​​​

If you cannot pick up your race packet, you may have a friend or family member pick it up for you (they will need to present a copy of your photo ID and a written authorization note).  You will need to make sure your online waiver is signed through Active.com for the SRM. If your waiver is not signed we will not release your bib.

Can I transfer my Bib or receive a refund? ​​

Race entries are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Are there race time limits?

All marathon and half marathon runners should only participate if they are confident that they can finish the race in seven hours or less. Traffic control, race monitors, safety/health volunteers and race officials will vacate the course at 1:00 pm. Anyone continuing to run the course will be doing so at their own risk.

Are there aid stations along the route?

Yes, aid stations are strategically positioned all along the full and half marathon, approximately every 2 miles. Fuel at stations will have gatorade,water,powerbar gels,pretzels(at select), banana/oranges.

Do you have special programs for elite runners?​​​​

Are there pacers for this year's marathon?​

Yes! There will be a pacer booth at the expo so you can meet the pacers and ask any questions you may have.

Are iPODs, iPhones and other personal listening devices permitted? ​
​Acting according to USATF guidelines, marathon permit requirements and for the safety of all runners, bicyclists, and other pedestrian traffic using the open trails,  the use of Ipods or any other listening device will be allowed with only ONE EAR BUD during the course that is on the Prince Memorial Greenway and Santa Rosa Creek Trail.  Runners wearing 2 or both ear buds during this portion of race will either be pulled from the race (or bib number noted) and disqualified.  Signage will be posted at both entrances of this portion of the race as well as along the portion stated above.  During the portion of the race not on the Prince Memorial Greenway and Santa Rosa Creek Trail two earphones WILL be allowed.

Course Marshals?​
​Course marshals will be patrolling and monitoring the course for safety, health and addressing concerns​.

Race Day Questions: ​​Where do event volunteers report?​​

Volunteers should check in at the location designated by their Marathon Volunteer coordinator  or team captain. Volunteers working in the Start/Finish area should check in at the volunteer booth located at Juilliard Park.​

 

Is there a bag check area?  Where is it located?​

Yes, bag check will be the finish line, located on the South side of Juilliard Park, off Juilliard. Bag check is an easy way to store items (like extra clothing) while you are out on the course.  Your race packet, available at our expo, will contain everything you need!  To check your gear, place your items in the race bag and attach the bag check label to your bag.  Please do not bag check valuables such as your car keys, cell phone, or jewelry, as we cannot be responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged items.

 

Where is the Post-Race Festival?​​

The Post-Race Festival will take place at Juilliard Park at the finish line. Pancakes served, beginning at 7:30. The Beer and Wine Garden and live music begins at 9:00a.m. and is open to all participants, volunteers and their guests. Food will be available at a modest cost for race participant's guests.

 

Are there showers or changing rooms at the Marathon?​​

No.



Where can I get my Marathon post-race picture taken?​​​

Your pictures are taken on the course, at the finish line and at the Post Race Festival.  Your photos will be on Captivating Sports 1 to 2 days after the race. Please, check their website at www.captivatingsportsphotos.net to view your photos.

 



How can my family find me after the race?​​​
​Post Race Festival at Julliard Park.

Can my time at the  Santa Rosa Marathon qualify me for the Boston Marathon?
​Yes, the Santa Rosa Marathon is a U.S. Track and Field sanctioned and certified course. The Boston Marathon accepts our runners, provided they qualify in their age group. Our results are sent to Boston. You need only apply.


When do I get my race results?
Disposable chip timing will be used. Results will be posted on the side of the timing van as soon as they become available and will be updated continually during the event. The final results are posted on our website. These are initially 99+% complete. We have a variety of corrections that occur within the first several days after the event.

Award Distribution?
​Awards distribution begins at 10:30 am with award announcements at 11:00 am (announcing only the first 3 finishers in each age division). Note: The distribution of awards is subject to the finalization of finisher results. Therefore, all awards may not be available as of 11:30 a.m. Your patience will be greatly appreciated.

What If I forget to pick up my award, what do I do?
Awards need to be picked up on race day. If you happen not to  pick up your award, please e-mail us and we’ll let you know the cost to have your award shipped.

Can I exchange my Race Jacket or shirt?

Race Jackets or shirts cannot be exchanged (for a different size) until all the races are over on race day.

Are dogs allowed?​

No, pets are not allowed on the course at any time.

 

Are bikes allowed?​

Bicycles are discouraged but this is an open to public course.

 

What if my Garmin, iPod, Smart device, differs from official race distance?

If the distance shown on your device is more than the official race distance, it just means you weren’t cutting corners—quite literally. According to the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federation) course certification and measurement guidelines (pg. 20), a road race course is defined by the shortest possible route a runner could take without being disqualified. Plus the Garmin distance will always be longer than 26.2. There is a built-in small percentage of gain in the USATF certification process that will show a 125 foot difference to the high side on your Garmin even if you ran every step in the shortest possible way equation. This is an immutable fact in every properly USATF measured marathon course.

 

What if my Garmin, iPod, Smart device, shows a slightly different time than the official race time?

How accurate your Garmin can be is affected by trees, cloud cover, mountains nearby and minor software derivations, auto pause or signal dropout. Thus chip timing is the official keeper of records.

 

Are strollers, baby carriers or baby backpacks allowed on the Half Marathon and Marathon course?

No. Due to safety concerns, we cannot allow strollers or baby carries of any sort on the course.​
